Mitel Minute Update: Global Semiconductor Shortage Impacting Some Mitel Phones

CT-Pros Mitel Minute Update

In this Mitel Minute update, we are letting you know that Mitel has notified us that the global semiconductor shortage is now impacting the delivery dates of two specific IP phones.

The global shortage is not specific to Mitel and has impacted multiple industries besides the on-prem market.

The two phones that are currently impacted are the 6930 IP Phone and the 622d DECT Handset.  We've been alerted that fulfilling orders will becoming increasingly difficult starting this quarter (Q2).

Mitel has taken a proactive stance and recommends that the 6920 IP phone instead of the 6930 IP Phone can be used.   They have also increased supply of the 6920 IP phone to help offset the 6930 IP phone shortage.

Mitel is also in the process of developing two new versions of the 6930 IP Phone.  These phones don't have an embedded Bluetooth chip or Bluetooth related functionality.   The two phones are the 6930L IP Phone (L stands for "light") and the 6930Lt which is the antimicrobial version of the "light" phone.

These phones are still being developed but should be available in Q3.

As always, when ordering new phones, it's important to let us know as your Mitel Platinum partner because there are compatibility issues that can occur when an incorrect version of a Mitel phone is ordered.   This can lead to support issues and headaches that can be avoided if you reach out to us first, and we can make sure you get exactly what you need.

If any questions, please reach out to your account manager and they'll be glad to assist.   If you are not a current customer and are looking for a reliable Mitel/ShoreTel Partner to help your business, please contact us using our contact form.
