Mitel Alert: MiCloud Connect Price Increases and More Support Cuts Coming This Fall

Mitel MiCloud Connect customers have endured numerous detrimental changes and waning service offerings over the past several months. This is due to last year's announcement that Mitel partnered with RingCentral and will no longer be selling cloud-based Mitel Connect platforms.

While no EoL (End of Life) date has been officially announced, Mitel is encouraging all cloud customers to move to RingCentral MVP—although you have options and can move to another provider if you choose.

Here's what we know:

Price Increases Coming October 1, 2022

We’ve just learned that more changes are coming, this time with price increases for MiCloud Connect customers. The affected MiCloud Connect products are:

  • MiCloud Connect

  • MiCloud Flex Retail

  • MiCloud Business Retail

  • ShoreTel Sky Retail

The above customers in the U.S. and Canada can expect a 25% price increase as early as October 1, 2022, applied as of the customer’s contract renewal date. This increase is for:

  • Profiles (such as Essentials, Premier, Elite, Telephony, Voicemail, and Courtesy)

  • Services (such as Faxing and Call Recording)

  • Hardware rentals (such as phones, switches, and routers)

The increase does not apply to usage-based fees like long distance and toll-free, regulatory fees such as E911, taxes, network connectivity (such as T1), or partner managed charges added by partner managed partners.

Customers that sign up for RingCentral MVP before the price increase changes on October 1, 2022, will be exempt from the Mitel price adjustments.

Mitel also said customers should expect an email regarding the increases on August 9, 2022, along with a cloud renewal FAQ.

Support Cuts Effective December 31, 2022

In addition, Mitel will no longer be supporting the following Time Division Multiplexing technology (TDM) circuits beginning December 31, 2022:

  • T-1/DS-1

  • NxT-1/DS-1

  • DS-3

  • OC-3

Mitel reiterated, "Customers relying on these circuits for voice traffic are encouraged to migrate to RingCentral MVP as part of this transition."
